8 Young Avengers Members whose identities have been revealed in the MCU

In its first three phases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe rarely featured superhero characters who were teenagers or young, only Spider-Man. The main characters in the MCU series, especially the Avengers, are all capable and experienced heroes and soldiers, ranging from their mid-twenties to thousands of years old.

However, in phase 4, Marvel seems to be starting to change their point of view. There are many young superhero characters presented.

In the comic version, there is such a thing as the Young Avengers, all of which are filled by teenage superheroes. There are several Young Avengers characters that have appeared in the MCU, who are they? Check out the list below.

1. Kate Bishop

Kate Bishop is a civilian trained to use arrows and ranged combat. Kate Bishop makes her first MCU appearance as the central character of the Hawkeye series.

In this series, Kate Bishop battles Tracksuit Mafia, Yelena Belova, and Kingpin alongside her mentor and idol, Clint Barton.

2. Cassie Lang

Cassie Lang is the only member of the Young Avengers who has appeared in the MCU before entering phase 4. Cassie Lang is the daughter of Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man. In the comics, Cassie is a member of the Young Avengers who goes by the name Stature.

Cassie was still a child in the films Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. However, Cassie survived Blip. Thus, Cassie had become a teenager when her father returned.

For the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumia Cassie Lang will have more roles than the previous two films, and could be her debut as Stature. Marvel re-cast this character and chose Kathryn Newton to replace Emma Fuhrmann.

3. Billy Maximoff

In the comics, one member of the Young Avengers who has a big enough role is Billy Kaplan or better known as Wiccan. Billy Kaplan or Billy Maximoff is the son of Wanda Maximoff, who has magical powers like his mother.

The character made very minimal appearances in both the Wandavision series and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In his first appearance, Billy is a dream made by Wanda to escape her grief. In his second appearance, Billy is a normal kid, but exists in an alternate reality.

4. Nathaniel Richards

Nathaniel Richards is a 31st century scientist who is able to make contact with other universes. Richards has many versions in the Marvel universe, the most famous of which is Kang the Conquerer, a multiversal warlord bent on destroying the entire cosmos.

Nathaniel Richards appeared in the final episode of the Loki series. However, there is another version of the famous Kang in the comics, namely Iron Lad. Lad is a younger version of Richards, he travels to the past rather than being a villain. Iron Lad is the person responsible for the formation of the Young Avengers.

5. Tommy Maximoff

Despite having a completely different surname from Wanda Maximoff and Billy Kaplan, Tommy is an important part of their lives. Tommy is one of Wanda's reincarnated children, which means he is Billy's brother.

In the comic books, Tommy is known as Speed, a member of the Young Avengers. Like Billy, Tommy only made cameo appearances in both the WandaVision series and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

6. Elijah Bradley

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is more or less about the injustice and history of black superheroes. The Bradleys are one such example. Isaiah Bradley is a former super soldier, who was betrayed by his government because of his race and because of that he argues about the possibility of a black man being given the nickname Captain America.

Isaiah's grandson Elijah played a minor role in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In the comics, Elijah has an important role, he plays the Patriot and is the leader of the Young Avengers, a similar role played by Captain America. Due to the importance of the character, Elijah may return in future MCU films.

7. America Chavez

America Chavez, better known as Misc America, is a major member of the Young Avengers. He is one of the strongest members, Chavez can fly, is strong in battle and can open portals between multiverses.

America Chavez made his MCU debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a man who can explore dimensions. Because of this unique power, Chavez became the target of many people, including the Scarlett Witch. At the end of the film, Chavez decides to stay in Kamar-Taj and learns how to control his powers.

It is still unclear whether the Young Avengers will form and become the next Avengers. What do you think, is it worth it if this young hero becomes a substitute for the Avengers?
