5 Couples In The MCU That Ended With Tragic Stories

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a series of superhero films that focus on heroic stories. Of course, the main premise is that heroes fight against villains to protect humans or other things. However, there are also some romantic stories that are presented as seasonings in the MCU.

This proves that even superheroes can feel the beauty of falling in love. However, falling in love is not always beautiful, sometimes love also ends sadly. Here are 5 couples in the MCU that ended tragically.

1. Wanda Maximoff and Vision

There is no doubt that Wanda and Vision are the most romantic couple in MCU history. However, this couple is also a couple that has a tragic ending.

Thanos' arrival causes Vision's death, which Wanda witnesses firsthand. Wanda also can't be with Vision because she was forced to give up Vision and the family she created.

Vision has evolved and has a human conscience with love and compassion from Wanda. However, the obsession of every criminal and organization to catch him puts Vision's life in danger. Wanda finally became Scralett

Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after losing Vision.

2. Thor Odinson and Jane Foster

Thor and Jane's love was so strong that Mjolnir chose Thor as its user because he was worthy. Jane and Thor's responsibilities to the world stand in their way and they are able to get past this problem until cancer is a crushing blow to Jane.

Jane made Thor believe in love. Thor had lived thousands of years but had never met someone who truly loved him as much as Jane. In Thor: Love and Thunder, they are separated forever when Jane dies of cancer. Now, Jane must wait until she can reunite with Thor in Valhalla.

3. Peter Parker and Michelle Jones-Watson

Peter and MJ are arguably the best couple in the Spider-Man universe, but they have a sad ending in the MCU. Although MJ survived the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, he no longer remembers who Peter was, which of course ended their relationship.

MJ is trying his best not to let Peter make a deal with Doctor Strange that will make the world forget his existence. This couple has been through a lot but had to separate before they could truly be happy.

4. Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter

It's easy to put the names of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter into a romantic couple in the MCU, because they have very good chemistry. Peggy was the only person who saw Steve as a true hero before he received the serum, Peggy was also fascinated by Steve's courage and kind personality.

They are separated by distance and time when Steve crashes into the ice and wakes up almost 70 years later. Even though Peggy is old and she died in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve never forgets her. Steve ends up using his time heist to reunite with Peggy, though the original version dies without ever being with him.

5. Stephen Strange and Christine Palmer

In the series What If? and the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it was revealed that Christine Palmer and Stephen Strange could never be together in either universe. Despite Doctor Strange's best efforts, there is always something that stands in the way of their relationship.

In a universe populated by Sinister Strange and Strange Supreme the two of them could be together, while Strange's main universe had to accept the fact that he and Christine weren't meant to be. The only good thing Strange did to Christine happened in Earth-838, where Strange said that he would love Christine in every universe.

Even though they are heroes who have super powers, in fact they can't fight fate when their love story ends tragically. It sucks to be them.
