Hercules Movie Will Be Made Live-Action Version

 Disney plans to make a live-action Hercules movie. Producers Joe and Anthony Russo opened up about how the film would be presented compared to the original 1997 animated version.

They made sure this latest version will be more modern while still holding on to its roots. Both of them explained the details of the big plot of Hercules for the first time, since the production announcement some time ago. While it's still unknown whether the remake will exactly follow the original plot, it looks like the Russo brothers and director Guy Ritchie will be putting a new twist on the Disney animation classic.

"We will definitely respect the original story, watching streaming movies but now with a more modern twist," said Joe Russo. The things that both of them love about the original is that it's funny and subversive, and they'll try to embrace that sense of humor in the live-action remake.

At this time, it is still unknown who will play Hercules and a release date has not yet been determined. The Hercules remake is really still in its early stages of development, with the Russo brothers working with Ritchie, who previously directed the Aladdin film.

The original film streaming for free, voiced by Tate Donovan, Danny DeVito, James Woods, and Susan Egan, tells the story of Hercules, the son of Zeus, who falls to Earth at the hands of Hades and loses his superpowers. After learning about how he was actually born, he comes face to face with a deadly monster that Hades himself conjured to return to Mount Olympus. The 1997 animated version is a musical comedy, a genre the Russo brothers seem to want to keep for a remake.

This remake follows Disney's latest live-action remake trend. Disney classics such as Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Lady and the Tramp, have all received successful live-action remakes and reboots.

There are several other live-action films in the works, namely The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starring Rachel Zegler. Snow White started production this year, while The Little Mermaid is scheduled for release on May 26, 2023.
