Approaching Halloween, many horror genre films are released, there are many themes from horror films that can be watched. For horror lovers, films with the theme of exorcism or demons are certainly no stranger.
In addition to the films The Conjuring and The Exorcist, Prey For The Devil also has the theme of exorcism. However, the plot that is presented is different from previous horror films.

Daniel Stamm is a director from Germany. He is known as a director who focuses on making his film productions on the tense genre. There have been several horror films that have been successfully produced such as The Devil's Night, The Last Exorcism, 13 Sins and most recently Prey For The Devil.
In this film project, director Daniel Stamm collaborates with several well-known actors. Virginia Madsen, Jacqueline Byers, Collin Salmon, Nicholas Ralph and others join the cast for Prey For The Devil. The film is set to be released on October 28, 2022 across the United States. Previously, the film was titled The Devil's Light and was scheduled for release in January 2021. However, it experienced a delay until it was finally shifted to February 2023, before finally being shifted again to October 2022.
2. Synopsis Prey For The Devil
Exorcism films usually place women as victims of possession, while men are represented as saviors. This has happened to classic films like The Exorcist, The Conjuring, and the Annabelle franchise. However, in the movie Prey For The Devil it is different.
This film focuses on a strong female protagonist. She is a nun named Sister Ann who has to do an exorcism. However, he did not expect that he would come face-to-face with such a powerful demonic power. Especially the demon has ties to his past. Prey For The Devil basically reverses the gender roles that are usually shown in exorcism movies, this film will explore more about the life of a female priest.
3. Inspired by cases of exorcism
The movie Prey For The Devil was inspired by actual exorcism cases and the schools set up by the church to fight this evil. Director Danie Stamm revealed that this exorcism activity can amaze the audience, because there are interesting things in it.
Included in this film is having to defeat an invisible demon without destroying the host's body adding complications to the core conflict of the film. The idea of losing control when possessed is also so frightening to us that it makes a perfect place for spooky stories to grow.
4. Complicated relationships
Prey For The Devil besides focusing on the plot of possession, this film also shows the complicated relationship between mother and child. Sister Ann realized that her mother's depressive state was something much darker and more sinister than she had expected, it's fair to say she was suffering from some trauma.
Despite having some traumas, Sister Ann is a child who holds on to her mother's love. She would rather face her own demons than accept the statement that her mother doesn't love her.
Director Daniel Stamm also revealed that the complicated relationship between them can raise concern from the audience for the character. This is revealed when Sister Ann pleads with the Dr. character. Peters to believe him that his mother was not cruel and abusive but she was being possessed.
"She (Sister Ann) was a child who clung to her love for her mother so tightly, that she would rather face her own demons than accept the statement that her mother didn't love her," director Daniel Stamm was quoted as saying in an interview with Bloody Digusting.
