This film will mark Kim Da Mi's return to the big screen after her role in The Witch: Part 2. The Other One (2022). In April 2022, the film Yaksha: Ruthless Operations, starring Park Hae Soo, also aired on Netflix.

Kim Da Mi became an actress who stole attention thanks to her acting in the film The Witch: Part 1: The Subversion (2018) to the drama Itaewon Class (2020). The Great Flood will mark Kim Da Mi's debut in a Netflix original project.

The Great Flood will be written and directed by Kim Byung Woo. He has previously produced a number of well-known films, such as Written (2007), The Terror Live (2013), and Take Point (2018).
The Terror Live, starring Ha Jung Woo, even succeeded in bringing Kim Byung Woo to win an award at a prestigious event. He won Best New Director at the 34th Blue Dragon Film Awards which was held in 2013.
