Marvel Studios built the MCU very well. There have been more than 20 films that they have made, and all of these films are mutually sustainable. Even now, they are starting to expand their universe with the addition of new series. But geeks, behind the splendor of the MCU, it turns out that Marvel Studios has rejected several story ideas for their various projects. What stories have Marvel Studios rejected? Baron Zemo Use Madbomb
In November 2022, Nate Moore discussed a script that had been submitted for Captain America 3. However, the script was rejected by Marvel Studios. The script tells of Baron Zemo who uses Madbomb's technology to wreak havoc. And that's where Captain America and Winter Soldier came down to stop him. In Marvel Comics, Madbomb is a device that can cause people to go crazy, and attack each other. And that thing was what was going to trigger the war in Captain America 3.
In the end, the story was rejected by Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios, because they considered that the threat presented was not big enough. Indeed, since the beginning, Kevin Feige really wanted to present Civil War in the MCU. But due to character limitations (because some of the copyrighted characters are owned by other studios), Feige and Marvel Studios made some adjustments. And in the end we see a version of Civil War in the MCU that is much simpler than the comic version.
Black Widow alumni
The creator of the She-Hulk series, Jessica Gao, has said that she was a writer for the film Black Widow. So previously, the film Black Widow will show when Natasha Romanoff is forced to meet her high school friends. To make matters worse, Romanoff has to deal with a lot of trouble, because he previously betrayed all his acquaintances in high school. “I was writing Black Widow, where Natasha Romanoff is in high school as a teenage spy. They put Romanoff in an American high school to kill a father. And 20 years later, Romanoff has to reunite again, and has to deal with the fallout from his fake identity.”
Actually the story above is not the only story made by Jessica Gao which was rejected. Gao admits that he also has story ideas for the films Captain Marvel and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. However, because the story he made did not "pass" by Marvel Studios, he finally got his next project, She-Hulk. And lucky because the story idea for She-Hulk was accepted by Marvel Studios.
The Emergence of Drone Streaming
As we know, the first episode of Ms. Marvel introduced Kamala Khan, a character who is very obsessed with superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. In the episode, Kamala shares details about the final battle between Thanos and the Avengers, on her YouTube channel. He told his followers that the information (Thanos' battle against the Avengers) came from Scott Lang's podcast aka Ant-Man. Now interestingly, actually that wasn't the original plan because the writer of the series Ms. Marvel has other plans.
Yep, earlier Bisha K. Ali was going to tell about the existence of several drones that appeared in the battle of Thanos and the Avengers. Now the drone will broadcast (stream) the battle live, so that the battle can be seen by all people in the world. Kevin Feige wasn't too keen on the idea, so it wasn't featured in the series.
A Different Captain Marvel Story
Long before Captain Marvel was released in 2019, it turns out that Kelly Sue DeConnick had proposed something very different for her film, which Marvel ultimately rejected. However, Deconnick said that those ideas that were rejected inspired the final story that was presented in the Captain Marvel film. DeConnick also explained the details of the story, where Carol Danvers got a different source of power. When Carol Danvers was about to get her powers, there was Helen Cobb with her too. Interestingly, Helen also wanted that power, so she deliberately ran closer to get hit by an explosion that made Carol Danvers gain strength.
Actually in the comics, Helen Cobb is a pilot who inspired Carol Danvers. The two of them also had adventures together. But in the end Marvel Studios rejected the idea and didn't feature Helen Cobb at all. Indeed, if seen, Helen is not suitable to appear in the film, but it is possible that in the future her character will really appear.
Peter Parker Horror
Author A.C. Bradley once revealed that he plans to adapt a very famous comic story to be told in an episode of the series What If...? He plans to tell the story of Peter Parker becoming a real spider (not spider man). Actually, Peter Parker who became a real spider was once told in the comic What if...?, and Bradley wanted to present him in the What If...? series. Bradley has also spoken directly to Marvel Studios, but they have turned it down.
According to Bradley, Marvel Studios considered this plan to be too dark and horror, especially for a series that has a PG-13 rating. But even though the story was rejected by Marvel Studios, he was not discouraged and accepted it. Even funny, Bradley almost tried to include Star Wars characters in the series.
