Thunderbolt is one of the biggest films in the MCU. How come? The film features many great actors such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Hannah John-Kamen, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and many more. The film is planned to be released in July 2024, and will be the closing film of Phase 5 of the MCU.
So far, not much information can be extracted about the film. But it is certain that the film presents the very iconic Thunderbolts team. Apart from featuring old actors, the Thunderbolt film will also feature new cast members.
Recently, Variety reported that Marvel Studios has tapped Ayo Edebiri to star in the Thunderbolt film in the MCU. For geeks who don't know, Edebiri is famous for his role in The Bear series. There may not be many film titles that Edebiri has starred in, but his acting talent is no longer in doubt.
It is not known exactly what superhero or villain will be played by Edebiri in the Thunderbolt film. But many have speculated that Edebiri will play Tigra or Moondragon. Even though the two characters don't have a relationship with Thunderbolt in the comics, Marvel Studios can tell a different story, where Tigra and Moondragon are superheroes who later join Thunderbolt.
For geeks who don't know, Tigra aka Greer Nelson is a member of the Avengers and Defenders. Greer Nelson transforms into a human and tiger hybrid, after he goes through a ritual that binds Gree's soul to the Cat People, a humanoid cat race that has existed since medieval times.
Since then he uses the name Tigra. When it becomes Tigra, its strength doubles. He is able to move quickly, has great endurance, and quicker reflexes. As for Moondragon, she is Drax's daughter. He first appeared in 1973, and briefly joined the Avengers.
Moondragon has very strong telepathic powers. Apart from that, he also has excellent fighting skills, just like his father. Let's just wait for the exact news about which character Ayo Edebiri will play in the upcoming Thunderbolt film.
