Wonder Woman's 5 Weird Powers That Rarely Appear

Wonder Woman is one of the characters in DC Comics who is known to have tremendous power. Since its first appearance 80 years ago, DC Comics has presented many stories about the figure of Diana Prince. But maybe not many geeks know that Diana has some extraordinary powers within her

This is one of the reasons why Diana has so many powerful abilities, which make her one of the strongest characters in the DC universe. Even so, it turns out that of the many powers that Wonder Woman has, there are some that are considered strange and unusual. This may be the reason why comic artists have started to slowly abandon this power. Then, what are the strange powers of Wonder Woman?

Astral Projection

Believe it or not at the beginning of its appearance, the figure of Wonder Woman has metaphysical abilities such as being able to move her subconscious to another reality or to another place. Diana will use the power to go to certain places, for example Olympus, or even hell. Even though his ability has started to be rarely used anymore, after the Crisis this power has appeared several times.

In fact, at first, this Astral Projection-like power was deliberately given to Diana to differentiate her abilities from that of Superman. Because, as we know, both Superman and Wonder Woman have powers or abilities such as flying, being resistant to any attack, or having super strength. Even though it is quite effective against evil, unfortunately there are also negative effects that he has to deal with such as his body which can still be injured depending on which realm he is in.

Forceful Change

One of the strangest powers that Wonder Woman has ever shown in DC Comics stories is how she forces someone – in this case the villains – to turn into a good person. What's even more strange is that when this happens, Diana will bind her target, similar to the Lasso of Truth but with a different purpose.

This idea came from a psychologist named William Moulton Marston. Marston believes that most of the crimes that occur are committed by men. Because of that, he believes if women then succeed in ruling then the world will be better. This is the reason why Wonder Woman has this strange power.

Dark Manipulation

What if Diana had the ability to control darkness? This is what happened to Wonder Woman in 2013 when she managed to defeat Ares the God of War. To stop the other characters from absorbing Ares' immense power and becoming the new God of War, Diana decides to kill Ares. And he became the new God of War.

However, without realizing it, this made Diana have strange powers such as manipulating darkness. Diana was shown to have the abilities used by Ares before, such as raising the army of darkness and of course controlling and manipulating darkness. It seems strange then that Wonder Woman has abilities based on darkness.

Magic Power

Apart from manipulating darkness, Wonder Woman's other strange power is the power of magic. Many geeks may frown upon seeing this and are curious about the point. Wonder Woman has indeed been shown fighting alongside characters whose strength is focused on magic, such as John Constantine and Zatanna.

Even though Diana came from an area filled with magic power, namely the Amazon island, it was only when she collaborated with the Dark Justice League that Diana found out that there was a lot of magical energy in her body. When the Dark Justice League faced the Upside-Down Man, Diana used a power she had never known before. And the power is truly awesome. Even so, DC Comics rarely shows Diana with magical powers, which is one of Wonder Woman's strange powers.

Talking With Animals

Since her first appearance in DC Comics 80 years ago, Diana has actually shown her ability to talk to animals several times. Starting from polar bears and even dinosaurs.

Even more epic and strange, just like the princesses in Disney stories, Diana also has the ability to control these animals. Even though on one hand Wonder Woman's ability is arguably strange, on the other hand this can also be a terrible power.
